Youth Ministry

6th to 12th Grade
6:15–8:15PM Wednesdays

Much like our Children’s Ministry, we want our youth (junior high through high school students) to be a part of being discipled through the normal rhythm of local church life. In fact, as students mature, we think it is even more important for them to begin seeing themselves as offering something for the rest of the body. We encourage youth to volunteer and serve in regular areas of our Sunday Gatherings (including Worship Team, Cafe, Greeters, etc), and we ask them to attend our regular services (e.g. we have no junior high or senior high ministry on Sunday mornings).

Like adults, we pray most youth will begin a 1-on-1 discipleship relationship in some form with one of their youth leaders, allowing them to begin to see how a relationship beyond the discipleship they receive from their parents can help them grow and mature in Christ. However, like children, youth especially need their own space to have fun (most adults don’t like youth games!), to share with one another, and receive age-appropriate teaching. That is what we desire to provide on our Wednesday night youth times

All our Youth Ministry staff and volunteers are well trained, background checked, and adhere to our best practices outlined in our Youth Ministry Guidelines.

Youth Ministry Curriculum

Our Youth Ministry is modeled around our Care & Equipping Model as a way to reinforce the importance of each of those areas of focus and to begin to model and equip youth so they can enter into the church life well once they are out of high school. Our youth have midweek meetings (usually Wednesdays) that model much of our Gospel Community and Small Group experiences for the youth. They also have a teaching time (similar to a Sunday Gathering or Educational classroom time) and regular events together.

We know it matters that you know where your youth are going, what they are being taught, and who is caring for them. We are happy to help answer any questions you may have and help you feel comfortable that your youth are being pointed to Christ in all that we do!

Questions?

If you have any Youth Ministry questions I would be happy to answer them!
